“At the center of your being you have the answers; you know who you are and you know what you want”
You don’t have to make extraordinary efforts to still your mind, you don’t have to spend alot of time at it, and you don’t even have to sit on the floor in the lotus position! There are several different meditation techniques and simple introductions to each practice. The key is to find the practice that suits you so that you can stay with it long enough to experience the following positive benefits:
- A calm focused mind
- Reduced anxiety and agitation
- Better Sleep
- Increase in mental clarity
- Decrease in blood pressure
- Improved Mood
- Decreased Negative/Critical Self-Talk
- Increased feelings of well-being
- Improved pain management
- Spiritual awareness or growth
Meditation increases self-esteem, self-acceptance, openess, a calm balanced, focused mind, and inner strength. If you are already a seasoned Meditator, we can incorporate journaling of your sittings into our sessions to deepen the therapeutic process. If you are new to meditation, I can introduce you to the process as part of our therapeutic work, if you choose. It really is simple, and there is no wrong way.
An ongoing Meditation Journaling Group will begin on a weekly basis in January 2014. This group will sit in meditation for a specified period of time followed by journaling about the experience and, if desired, verbally processes the meditation experience. Feedback will be given upon request from the group facilitator and other participants.
Individual instruction is available by appointment. Other Groups or Workshops with meditation themes will be held periodically, so please check the event calendar frequently. Contact me if you would like to set up an appointment or have further questions.
